A global commercial workshop held in HCM. Took opportunity to extend trip. Was there in total for 10 days!
First time that I had felt "Imperial" treatment in Coke. Thanks to the great organisation of the Vietnamese counterparts.
Two way transfers provided with wifi in limo!
One of the welcome gifts in the pack
Great place to stay at for comfort and location, but pricey. Had to pay for my own extensions as didn't have time to look for lodging elsewhere.
First trip to Ho Chih Minh. Overall, liked it much. Very "chilled" place with friendly people and good food.
Post office area
Next to post office is this really cool street that I would come daily for my coffees
Motorcycles everywhere
School children
Opera house
Some square that we pass by everyday, that turns into a giant carnival in the evenings.
Rex hotel, a landmark
Cityhall?
Ben Thanh market, the most popular bazaar, lit at night.
Then, there are lots of temples. Went to many to take photos.
Very familiar scenes to Singaporeans.
John, my good friend and colleague, loves street food. We go about trying many.
THis is my favourite. Some kind of wrap
John demonstrating how to eat the wrap
With his Sin-Viet friends
With John and Benny, my guru. This is the best roadside we had. Steamboat and BBQ. But caused severe food poisoning to all three of us. Luckily Benny was well prepared and we were able to rely on his medications.
As this was a working trip, we went on a market visit. This is a week old café whose owner's daughter painted and decorated the premise.
Her daughter was camera shy but she offered us to google her. She is actually famous, a Ms Vietnam couple of years ago.
Unassuming and friendly owner of many businesses demonstrating Hanoi waterpipe. Eye opener to listen to his rags to riches stories through a translator while sipping tea in his little shop.
